二週間前に交通事故に遭ったとき、救急車に乗って病院に行きました。怪我は大したことがなかったので、歩いてでも行けないことはなかったのですが、大事を取って中原警察署の警察官に救急車を呼んで頂きました。雨が降ってきたので、若い警察官はパトカーの中で休んでいるように勧めてくれました。救急車が到着すると、後部のストレッチャーに寝かされ、救急隊員の方に質問攻めに会いました。血圧を測ると、かなり高いということでした。私の普段の血圧は120-80前後で理想的なものです。ところが、事故後の興奮で血圧が上がっていたのです。救急隊員はあちこちの病院に連絡を取り、条件が合うS病院に向かいました。 　病院に着くと、私はストレッチャーに寝たまま救急車から降ろされ、病院の受付の前を通りました。受付の女性たちには、「やあ、どうも」と愛敬を振りまいていました。私は救急隊員の方にお礼を述べて、ストレッチャーから降りると、CTスキャンとX線撮影を受けました。救急車の出動回数は多く大変忙しいのにも拘わらず、救急隊員の方々は非常に親切で信頼できる仕事ぶりでした。中原消防署の方々だと思いますが、ご多用中大変お世話になり、ありがとうございました。すっかり元気になり、今はウィスキーを飲みながらブログを書いています。お仕事を応援しています。 （写真は、ポルトガルのコインブラの街並です。） When I had a traffic accident two weeks ago, I went to a hospital on an ambulance. Although my injury was not serious and I could walk to a hospital, I asked a policeman of Nakahara police office to call an ambulance. Since it began to rain, the young policeman kindly advised to get on a patrol car to rest. When an ambulance arrived at the site, I was told to lie down on a stretcher and asked a lot of questions. My blood pressure was rather high. Usually my blood pressure is normal indeed. Probably it was higher than usual due to the excitement after the accident. The personnel called couple of hospitals and found the appropriate hospital. When the ambulance reached the S hospital, I was taken lying on the stretcher and passed in front of receptionists. I greeted them smiling, “Hi, everyone!” I thanked the personnel and was examined with CT scan and X-ray. Ambulances were called so often and personnel are very busy. They are very kind and credible. Thank you very much, personnel of Nakahara Fire Department. I’m now fine and drink whisky. I truly appreciate your mission. (The picture shows the city of Coimbra in Portugal.)
