日大高校の体育館で統一地方選挙の投票を済ませてから、家内とすぐ近くの蕎麦屋で昼食を食べました。私は大好物の鴨せいろ、家内は天ざるです。初めて入った店ですが、なかなか美味しいそばでした。それから、八十階段を登り、普通部通りを進んで日吉駅に達します。家内と日吉駅で別れて、私は一人で浜銀通りを歩きます。先週家内と散歩したコースを進んで、井田病院に向かいます。井田病院の桜はかなり散っていました。その代わり、新緑が目に眩しいほど鮮やかに出ていました。高台から北側を眺めると、建設中の武蔵小杉の超高層マンションがにょきにょきと立っているのが目立ちます。 　元住吉商店街は1kmくらいの長い商店街で、駅に近いところは北ドイツの都市にちなんで「ブレーメン通り」と呼ばれています。ここには、安くて魅力的な店が多いのです。ケーキ屋に車のクレープ屋、薬局に八百屋、焼き鳥に薩摩揚げの店、酒屋に衣料品店など、どの店も安くて、品質がよいのです。以前知人が、日吉の八百屋が元住吉の八百屋に野菜を仕入れに来ているところを見かけたと驚いていました。給料日前の私は、それでも何も買わずに通り過ぎました。 （写真は、井田病院からの眺めです。） After we finished voting for the nationwide local elections, I took lunch with my wife at a soba restaurant in the vicinity. This is the first time to enter it, but it served tasty soba noodle. I had soba with hot duck soup and she had soba with tempura. Then we took a walk through the Eighty Stairs, proceeded along the Futsubu Road and reached Hiyoshi station. After we arrived at the station, I continued walking along Hamagin Road alone. Cherry blossoms were falling in Ida Hospital. New leaves brightly grew instead. From the hill, I can see a lot of skyscraper condominiums under construction in Musashi-kosugi. Moto-sumiyoshi shopping mall is about 1km length and called “Bremen Street” near the station named after the city of northern Germany. Cheap and attractive shops are often found along the street. Sweets and crepes, drugs and vegetables, Yakitori and Satsuma-age, alcohols and clothes. Every shop sells cheap and good things. One of my elder friends was astonished to see a greengrocer in Hiyoshi buying vegetables at a greengrocer in Moto-sumiyoshi shopping mall. Nevertheless, I didn’t buy anything just before pay day.
